Lawrence and Naidoo Boost Strong SA Challenge for 2025 Nedbank Golf Challenge

DP World Tour champions Thriston Lawrence and Dylan Naidoo will add further star power to an already strong South African contingent confirmed for this year’s Nedbank Golf Challenge at the Gary Player Country Club from 4–7 December, 2025.

The duo joins a home line-up that already includes PGA TOUR winner Aldrich Potgieter, multiple DP World Tour champion Christiaan Bezuidenhout, and Sunshine Tour Order of Merit champion Daniel van Tonder. With Lawrence, Potgieter and Bezuidenhout all ranked inside the world’s top 75, South Africa will have a formidable presence in “Africa’s Major”.

Lawrence, 28, will return to Sun City in pursuit of a maiden home victory fresh off the fifth DP World Tour title of his career. The rising star has built a strong Nedbank record, finishing inside the top 15 in two of his last three starts. On debut in 2022, he came within one shot of the lead going into the final round before finishing tied 13th.

“This tournament is very special to me and I’m really looking forward to playing in front of our home fans and joining my fellow South Africans in hopefully claiming a home victory,” Lawrence said.

Naidoo, 27, will make his Nedbank Golf Challenge debut as the reigning Investec South African Open champion. His breakthrough triumph earlier this year not only delivered his first DP World Tour win but also earned him his place in the prestigious Sun City field.

“Winning my national Open was a life-changing moment for me and it’s opened up so many doors, one of which is a place in the Nedbank Golf Challenge. As a young South African golfer, you grow up dreaming of winning your national Open, and then playing in and hopefully one day winning the Nedbank Golf Challenge. I can’t wait to experience a tournament that has been such a big part of South African golf history,” Naidoo said.

The 2025 Nedbank Golf Challenge will again combine world-class golf with premium fan experiences, headlined by the Hospitali-TEE Lounge.
