PEP Celebrates Women’s Month With Mini Netball Festival In Worcester

PEP mini Netball Festival at Laerskool Wynland in Worcester, Western Cape
PEP continued its commitment to empowering young girls through sport by hosting a vibrant mini Netball Festival at Laerskool Wynland in Worcester on Friday, bringing together aspiring players for a day dedicated to learning, teamwork and fun.
The festival, held on 1 August, welcomed girls from participating schools as part of the nationwide PEP mini Netball programme, which aims to strengthen grassroots netball while encouraging greater participation in the sport.
Running from 08:00 to 13:00, the event featured interactive coaching activities and friendly matches, providing the young players with an opportunity to develop their skills, grow in confidence and enjoy the game in a positive and supportive environment.
With August marking Women’s Month in South Africa, the festival also served as a celebration of the role sport can play in empowering young girls. By creating opportunities to participate in netball from an early age, the initiative seeks to nurture important values such as leadership, teamwork and self-belief, both on and off the court.
The Worcester festival forms part of PEP’s ongoing investment in grassroots sport across the country, with the PEP mini Netball programme continuing to provide young girls with opportunities to develop their talents while fostering a lifelong passion for netball.
As the programme continues to reach communities nationwide, initiatives such as these are helping to ensure that the next generation of female athletes is equipped with the confidence and skills to pursue their dreams.
