Betway Backs the Boks with Renewed 4-Year Partnership
In a major show of continued support for South African rugby, leading global betting and gaming company Betway has reaffirmed its commitment to the national game by extending its partnership with SA Rugby for another four years. The deal not only underscores Betway’s growing footprint in South African sport but also signals its dedication to backing both the men’s and women’s formats of the game, from the world champion Springboks to the ever-rising women’s and Sevens teams. The announcement comes ahead of the Springboks’ clash with the Barbarians this weekend in Cape Town.
Betway Gets Behind Every Bok for Another 4 Years
Monday 23 June 2025: Leading global online betting and gaming brand, Betway, has shown its continued commitment to South African sport by renewing its partnership with SA Rugby.
Apart from the Betway Premiership and the Betway SA20, Betway will proudly partner with the 4-time world champions, the Springboks, the Springbok women’s team, as well as the men’s and women’s Springbok Sevens teams for the next 4 years.
The partnership will see Betway’s logo proudly displayed on the back of the shorts of the 4 teams in what promises to be an exciting year for the men and women in green and gold, beginning with the Springboks taking on the Barbarians in Cape Town this weekend.
Betway Africa’s Head of Marketing, Mark Rowles, said:
“The Springboks are a team that have brought so much joy to South Africa and we as Betway are delighted to be behind the Boks for another 4 years. Our journey has seen so much success for the team and that feel-good feeling has certainly rubbed off on the ‘rainbow nation’. We are looking forward to playing a role in the success of both the women’s and Sevens teams over the next 4-year period and will be investing in the growth and accessibility of the women’s game.”
SA Rugby CEO Rian Oberholzer added:
“As we’ve seen over the last four years, this partnership with Betway enabled us to work together in bringing our passionate fans even closer to the game.
We are excited to extend our partnership with Betway as this will yet again stretch beyond the four white lines of a rugby field. Betway has brought some exciting initiatives to the rugby landscape, such as the Betway Next Phase, an exciting three-year initiative that helped develop, upskill, and empower coaches in women’s rugby.
Without sponsors, sport would struggle, and we’re fortunate that we have a partner such as Betway that is passionate about growing rugby.”
Betway will be launching its official Springbok campaign in the next few weeks, so keep an eye out for billboards across South Africa, where Springbok fans have continuously shown their support by being fully behind the Boks. Betway also extended its best wishes to the Springbok Women’s squad ahead of the upcoming World Cup in England kicking off this August.
