Hovland to Make Nedbank Golf Challenge Debut in Honour of Gary Player

Norwegian golf sensation Viktor Hovland will make his long-awaited South African bow later this year when he tees it up at the Nedbank Golf Challenge at the iconic Gary Player Country Club in Sun City, from 4–7 December 2025.
The 27-year-old star, currently ranked World Number 11, will be joining the field in a tournament widely known as “Africa’s Major,” adding his name to a glittering list of international golfers who have competed in the event.
Hovland heads to South Africa fresh off the back of his third consecutive Ryder Cup appearance, with the contest set to unfold at Bethpage Black next week. He etched his name into Ryder Cup history two years ago in Rome, combining with fellow Scandinavian Ludvig Åberg to record a 9&7 demolition of World Number One Scottie Scheffler and five-time Major winner Brooks Koepka – the largest margin of victory ever seen in the competition.
The 2023 FedExCup champion has already built a career of firsts. He was the first Norwegian to win on both the DP World Tour and PGA TOUR and claimed his 11th career title earlier this year with victory at the Valspar Championship in Florida.
Looking ahead to his Nedbank Golf Challenge debut, Hovland said:
