Global tech brand HONOR has officially launched its latest smartphone, the HONOR 600 Lite, in South Africa, combining AI-powered features, durability and premium design in a value-driven package.
Unveiled at The Campus in Bryanston on 16 April, the device was introduced in a high-energy setting that blended sport, entertainment and real-time content creation. Influencers, media personalities and athletes were in attendance, including Ronwen Williams and Vincent Pule, as the phone was put through its paces in dynamic, real-life scenarios.
The launch event also featured a live broadcast from YFM’s The Home Run with Ayanda MVP, adding to the vibrant atmosphere as guests experienced the device courtside and on the move.
At the heart of the HONOR 600 Lite is a 108MP ultra-clear camera system, designed to deliver sharper detail and consistent results across everyday use. The device also introduces an AI Camera Button, allowing users to capture and adjust images instantly without interrupting the moment.
Built for performance that lasts, the smartphone is powered by a 6520mAh battery supported by 45W HONOR SuperCharge, catering to users who demand reliability for content creation, streaming and daily use.
In terms of design, the HONOR 600 Lite features a metal-forged unibody structure that is both slim and durable. With 1.8m drop resistance and SGS Premium Performance Certification, the device is engineered to withstand everyday wear and tear while maintaining a premium feel. Its 6.6-inch full-view display, complemented by ultra-narrow bezels, offers an immersive viewing experience.
According to HONOR South Africa CEO Fred Zhou, the device reflects what local consumers value most.
“The HONOR 600 Lite brings together premium design, performance and real value in one seamless experience. We are seeing strong interest in AI-driven content creation tools, and with the upgraded battery, users can enjoy that experience for longer,” he said.
The HONOR 600 Lite will be available in stores from 24 April 2026 in Sprout Green and Velvet Black, with a recommended retail price of R8,999. Launch promotions include a complimentary HONOR Choice Watch 2i and a 180-day accidental damage protection plan, adding further value for customers.
With its blend of style, performance and smart features, HONOR’s latest release is positioned to appeal to South Africans looking for a device that keeps up with fast-paced, everyday life.
