Dreams Don’t Sleep: YouthX Festival Returns With Power And Purpose

Dreams don’t sleep – they toss and turn in res rooms, taxi rides, midnight side hustles, and whispered starlit prayers. And on 4 October 2025, those restless dreams will ignite at Constitution Hill as the YouthX Festival (YX25) makes its much-anticipated return, carrying its boldest theme yet: “Dreams Don’t Sleep.”

But YX25 is not just another festival on the calendar. It’s a collective awakening — a space where dreamers, dancers, doers, poets, and programmers converge to breathe life into their visions. Backed by Nedbank as the official gateway, the festival celebrates a generation of youth who are loud, bold, original, and unafraid to be seen.

At the heart of YX25 lies the YouthX Awards, a tribute to 10 extraordinary young South Africans who are shaping change across industries and communities. From tech innovators to creative disruptors, these finalists embody the spirit of resilience and reinvention. On the YX25 stage, one will be crowned the official 2025 YouthX Awards winner, joining an elite circle of South Africa’s brightest trailblazers.

Yet YX25 is more than accolades. It’s a 12-hour cultural shutdown, blurring the lines between hustle and play. Expect masterclasses, pop-up showcases, entrepreneurial insights, and an unforgettable music experience.

And for the music lovers? The line-up is nothing short of fire. Festivalgoers can look forward to chart-toppers like DJ Maphorisa, Focalistic, Mellow & Sleazy, Shekinah, Shamiso, Sun-El Musician, and none other than global rap star Nasty C. Fan favourites DJ 1D and Omagoqa will raise the tempo, while media personalities Primo9Teen and Lula Odiba return as hosts to keep the energy buzzing from start to finish.

“At Nedbank, we understand that dreams demand more than inspiration – they require support, visibility and a platform. YouthX is that platform. Through YX25, we continue to honour the energy and excellence of South Africa’s youth, those who refuse to sleep on their visions,” says John Makgato, Head of Youth Segment Strategy and Client Value Proposition at Nedbank.

Since its inception, YouthX has grown beyond a festival into a cultural movement. It uplifts, amplifies, and celebrates the resilience of young South Africans who keep daring, building, and dreaming. YX25 continues this legacy, creating a stage where music, culture, ambition, and innovation collide.

Whether you’re a dreamer, a dancer, or a doer, YX25 is your space to belong, connect, and be seen.
