URC Renews Partnership With OFX As Official Currency Exchange Partner

URC Renews Partnership With OFX

The United Rugby Championship (URC) has announced the renewal of its partnership with OFX, the global money transfer and foreign exchange specialist, reaffirming OFX as the league’s Official Currency Exchange Partner.

The renewed agreement builds on a successful collaboration that has coincided with a period of record-breaking growth for the competition. Last season, the Vodacom URC recorded unprecedented levels of fan engagement across stadium attendances, broadcast audiences, and digital platforms.

As the trusted foreign exchange partner to the league, OFX will continue to streamline the URC’s international financial operations through its all-in-one Financial Platform. From cross-border payments to risk management on fluctuating currencies, the platform enables the league to focus its resources on delivering world-class rugby on the pitch.

A key feature in the renewed deal includes access to Digital FX Forwards, giving the URC the ability to lock in exchange rates for future payments. This innovation offers greater financial certainty and confidence in planning, further strengthening the business backbone of the competition.

Shared commitment to growth

Maeve McMahon, President EMEA of OFX, expressed pride in extending the relationship:

“We’re delighted to renew our partnership with the United Rugby Championship. Just as the Vodacom URC brings together teams and fans across borders, the OFX platform helps URC seamlessly manage their payments, spend, and currency flows in one place.

Our expertise in global payments ensures the URC can focus on the game, while we handle the complexities of international finance. We’re proud to support the Vodacom URC as it continues to grow, inspire fans worldwide, and deliver world-class rugby on the pitch.”

Martin Anayi, CEO of the URC, highlighted the importance of the partnership in helping the competition thrive across international markets:

“We are delighted to extend our partnership with OFX as the official foreign exchange partner of the Vodacom URC. The United Rugby Championship is a truly global competition — our clubs, players and fans connect across multiple markets and currencies every single week. Managing those international relationships requires real expertise, and with OFX we know we have a partner that not only brings world-class capability in foreign exchange, but also shares our ambition to keep growing the Vodacom URC on the international stage.

I want to personally thank OFX for their continued belief in the URC and for the trust they have shown in renewing this partnership. This is a multi-layered sponsorship that delivers real value for both of us — not only in terms of business outcomes, but also in the way it helps us connect with communities around the world.”

Looking ahead

The announcement comes as excitement builds for the upcoming 2025/26 Vodacom United Rugby Championship season, which kicks off on Friday, 26 September. This campaign will feature 151 matches across 21 weekends, 16 teams, five territories, and two hemispheres — reaffirming the URC’s status as one of rugby’s most expansive and dynamic competitions.

With OFX continuing to manage the complexities of global finance behind the scenes, the URC is well placed to keep expanding its reach and delivering the high-intensity rugby that has captured the imagination of fans worldwide.
